Job summary

A well-established engineering firm in Wrexham is seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to join their automated production team. The role involves carrying out maintenance on machinery, supporting optimal performance, and working in a physically demanding environment. The ideal candidate should have an electrical qualification and experience in manufacturing. This is a full-time, permanent position with a shift pattern of 3 on / 3 off.

The Role

A proactive and electrically biased Maintenance Engineer is required to join a well-established engineering team at a fully automated, SCADA-controlled production site operating 24/7. You'll work as part of a team of 3 engineers per shift, ensuring plant and equipment run reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of plant and machinery
  • Support optimal machine performance and reduce downtime
  • Perform routine site walkarounds for general facility checks (leaks, alarms, switches)
  • Mechanical work including replacing beater bars, bearings, chains, belts, sprockets, and ensuring proper alignment
  • Assist in commissioning new production lines

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Electrically biased with strong mechanical competence
  • Electrical Qualification
  • PLC fault-finding experience
  • Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding conditions
  • Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
