Responsibilities

  • Maintain and install mechanical plant & machinery according to company specifications.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance across various equipment.
  • React promptly to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.

Job description

New exciting opportunity to join a global Manufacturing organisation based in the Greater Manchester Area. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established maintenance team.

The Maintenance Engineer position is commutable from Warrington, Skelmersdale, Bolton, and Wigan.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - 2 x 12 hr days & 2 x 12 hr nights, with 5 fixed 18-day breaks.

Responsibilities and Experience:

  • Maintain and install all mechanical plant & machinery per company requirements.
  • React quickly to diagnose & repair mechanical problems on plant or equipment.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment.
  • Ensure all plant and machinery are in safe, good, and clean condition.
  • Complete relevant paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and repairs as needed.
  • Report equipment issues immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Adhere to Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Complete maintenance work orders using a CMMS system like Agility.
  • Experience with pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and systems.
  • Welding skills: MMA, TIG, MIG.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings.
  • Multi-skilling is advantageous.
  • Apprentice trained with HNC / City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
