Job summary

D R Newitt & Associates are assisting a Bristol-based food manufacturer to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team. The role requires diagnosing and fixing electrical and mechanical faults in a fast-paced environment and performing planned maintenance on conveyors, mixers, slicers, fillers and packing machines.

The position is a Monday–Friday days role with rotating weeks (Week 1: 9am–6pm; Week 2: 5am–2pm).

Qualifications

• Proven ability to diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Multi-skilled with electrical qualifications preferred.
• Experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance to reduce downtime and improve plant reliability.
• Maintain conveyors, mixers, slicers, fillers and packing machines.
• Diagnose faults quickly and communicate downtime and corrective actions to Leadership.
• All work performed safely to a high standard.

I am helping an established Food Manufacturer source a Multi Skilled Engineer for their Bristol operations.

The company is performing well and would like to add to their current team of 6 Engineers.

This is a Monday - Friday days role:

• Week 1 - (9am - 6pm)
• Week 2 - (5am - 2pm)
• Shifts repeat

Role Overview:

• They require someone with a proven ability to diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main duties:

• Carry out repairs and maintenance to help reduce downtime and improve plant reliability.
• Maintaining conveyors, mixers, slicers, fillers and packing machines.
• Diagnose faults quickly and effectively
• Communicate effectively with Production and Engineering leadership regarding downtime and corrective actions
• All work should be carried out safely to a high standard

The person:

• Ideally should be multi-skilled with some form of Electrical qualification.
• Food Manufacturing or FMCG experience is desirable but candidates from heavier industries will also be considered.
