A leading company in the food industry is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a flour mill. The successful candidate will ensure maintenance tasks are carried out in compliance with safety standards and will contribute to the plant's ongoing improvement. Qualifications

  • Experience as a maintenance engineer in an operational environment, preferably FMCG, Food, or Drink.
  • Experience replacing common mechanical drive couplings, chains, belts, and rolling element bearings.
  • Experience with industrial 3-phase motor and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond quickly to unscheduled plant stoppages.
  • Assist with monitoring external contractors on site.

We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service at our flour mill. In this role, the successful candidate will be required to carry out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks in line with safety and quality standards, to ensure the long-term maximum utilisation of the production plant and its compliance with statutory legal requirements. To also contribute to the continual improvement of the plant.

Key Accountabilities
  • Operate according to procedures defined within site quality, environmental, and health and safety systems and standards.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of the plant, processes, and working environment through generating and implementing improvements and working collaboratively across departments/sites.
  • Assist with monitoring external contractors on site, ensuring familiarity with site rules.
  • Carry out daily monitoring inspections and self-audits in each area of the plant on a weekly rota.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to any unscheduled plant stoppages.
  • Use the Maximo system, ensuring labour and material expended are recorded and PPM/PdM are carried out for all areas of the site.
  • Safely carry out all repairs to plant equipment and services as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Participate in the efficient running of the maintenance department, including housekeeping, planning of work, use of tools, and control of spare parts and materials.
  • Participate in the call-out program for maintenance faults.
  • Analyse and rectify plant/process defects in a timely manner using RCA where applicable.
  • Work within budget and look to reduce costs wherever possible.
  • Engage in the Safety-First culture and ensure compliance with AMB internal policies and procedures.
  • Identify own development and training needs, participating proactively.
  • Actively participate and contribute to sharing “Best Practice” within a food manufacturing environment.

  • Food Safety awareness (desirable).
  • Experience as a maintenance engineer in an operational environment, preferably FMCG, Food, or Drink.
  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship with a formal qualification.
  • Experience replacing common mechanical drive couplings, chains, belts, and rolling element bearings.
  • Experience with industrial 3-phase motor and control systems and their interaction with modern PLC systems.
  • Experience with plants that have pneumatic control and operation and common industrial bearing systems.
  • Experience with compressed air systems, pneumatic components, and steam rising plant.
