Job description

Swift Placements is working with a leading provider of environmental, animal, and human health solutions. Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanically Biased) for a full-time, permanent position located in York Dishforth.

Position Details

• Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, providing engineering support to the production team.
• Full-time permanent role with a 48-hour workweek, Thursday-Sunday or Friday-Monday, 6am-6pm.
• Benefits include company vehicle, pension scheme, life assurance, training and development opportunities, and Medicash.
• Location: Dishforth Airfield, YO7 3DH.
• Salary: Up to £35,000, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

1. Perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
2. Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolve machinery issues supporting process and quality improvements.
3. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including breakdown reports and actions taken.
4. Provide comprehensive breakdown information and actions taken to support the planned maintenance system.
5. Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety guidelines.

Essential Criteria

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Time-served Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias background.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of pneumatic and electrical control systems; experience with product transfer systems such as elevators, drag-chain, and auger feed systems.
• Problem-Solving: Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production and engineering environment, with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
