Maintenance Engineer
Location:Tamworth
Shift:Double days

A leading UK-based manufacturing business is seeking a skilledElectrical bias Maintenance Engineer to join its fast-paced production environment.This is a unique opportunity to become part of aleading European player in the production of complex PCBs.

The Role

Working as part of a small but vital maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for both electrical and mechanical support across a wide range of complex machinery. Your focus will be on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minimising production downtime, while ensuring all safety and quality standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance

  • Support production teams by keeping critical equipment running

  • Log and track all maintenance tasks in a digital management system

  • Work safely and efficiently in line with site and legal requirements

  • Diagnose breakdowns and identify root causes quickly and effectively

  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge and skills

Shift Pattern
  • 34-hour week, Monday to Friday

  • Rotating weekly shifts:

    • Monday–Thursday: 06:00–13:30 / 13:30–21:00

    • Friday: 06:00–12:30 / 12:30–19:00

  • Additional cover includes:

    • 1 Saturday every 6 weeks

    • 1 week of night shift per year (21:00–06:00, Mon–Thurs), with allowance

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role

  • Recognised electrical qualification (C&G, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent)

  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics and fault-find with 3-phase motors, sensors, drives, and relays

  • Experience in PLC fault-finding (advantageous but not essential)

  • A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail

  • Prior experience in manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, FMCG, automation, recycling, or similar
