Maintenance Engineer

£40,000 + DOE

37.5 Hours Per Week

North Swindon, Wiltshire

Are you a talented Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge? Our client is on the hunt for a Permanent Maintenance Engineer to help ensure their campus buildings remain in top-notch condition! You’ll be tasked with maintaining and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems, as well as diving into some building fabric repairs and various handy work around the site. If you’re resourceful, self-motivated, and passionate about maintenance, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair campus buildings' electrical & mechanical systems and associated components.
  • Perform building fabric repairs to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Handle minor electrical and plumbing work as needed.
  • Carry out minor carpentry work when required.
  • Conduct air handling system maintenance.
  • Complete all regular safety checks diligently.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with safe working practices.
  • Execute preventative planned maintenance checks including:
    • Fire door checks
    • Emergency light testing
    • Fire extinguisher & fire blanket checks
    • Communal lighting checks
    • Building audits

Profile of a Successful Candidate:

  • Experience and knowledge of building services and facilities engineering.
  • SSSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is a plus.
  • Qualifications like C&G 2391 and 18th edition would be advantageous.
  • Plumbing skills would be beneficial.
  • Sound health & safety knowledge.
  • Resourceful and self-motivated individual.
  • A true team player with good communication skills.
  • Strong organisational capabilities and an eye for detail
