Job summary

Job description

Are you an experienced maintenance engineer with sound knowledge of Motors/Drives, Gearbox/transmissions, and PLCs?

Can you commit to working 4 on, 4 off, 2 days, 2 nights (6-6)?

Manpower Engineering is currently working on behalf of one of our valued partners to assist them in finding a maintenance shift engineer to join their close-knit team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your role will include:

  1. Offering emergency breakdown response to production machinery and equipment, along with supporting services as required
  2. Carrying out regular planned maintenance as per the schedule
  3. Providing ideas and suggestions for improvements in all aspects of engineering on site
  4. Filling in all records and documentation accurately related to maintenance activities
  5. Supporting the site management team to maximize machine utilization
  6. Ensuring mechanical/electrical repairs and maintenance are carried out on all machinery and equipment
  7. Monitoring production equipment performance, identifying issues or recurring faults, and implementing modifications as needed

Key Results Areas/Outputs include:

  • Adherence to Planned Maintenance Schedule at 90%
  • 100% completion of log sheets accurately
  • Reducing unplanned machine downtime by 10% compared to the previous year

Qualifications required:

  • HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • Recognized apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance
  • NVQ Level 3 in maintenance operations or equivalent
