Job summary

A leading technical engineering recruitment firm in Stanford in the Vale is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a day shift role. The successful candidate will ensure effective maintenance and repair of injection moulding machines while maximizing performance and minimizing downtime. Ideal candidates will have mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and be experienced in fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance. This is a multi-skilled position necessitating good communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Must hold qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is advantageous.
  • Must be a qualified electrician with 17th/18th Edition regulations.

Overview

Working alongside our client, a specialist injection moulding manufacturer are seeking a Maintenance Engineer on a day shift to join their team.

Remit
  • As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for providing effective maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of injection moulding machines, associated robotics and automation equipment.
  • The Maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in minimising downtime, maximizing machinery performance and ensuring safe, efficient production operations.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a forward thinking company on a 4-day, days only role.
Role
  • Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical faults that occur on plant and/or equipment
  • Further develop/improve the preventative maintenance programme for all plant and/or equipment (hydraulics, robots, ancillary machine and automatic assembly).
  • Validation of new plant equipment, automation and upgrades, arranging and liaising with outside contractors if and when required
  • Process/equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Ensure all items of plant and/or equipment is in good safe working order.
  • Maintain and update PAT testing and register.
  • Manage new equipment installation, arranging and liaising with outside contractors if and as required.
  • Strive to improve the efficiency and safety of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of record keeping for all repairs and servicing of plant and/or equipment as required for audit, traceability and warranty purposes, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Experience Requirements
  • Apprentice trained or formally qualified in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • A good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronic/electrical automation controls.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming would be a further advantage.
  • Qualified electrician with 17th/18th Edition regulations or equivalent.
  • Logic fault-finding & problem-solving skills
  • Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • General troubleshooting problems on a variety of plant and equipment.
  • You will be a team player with communication skills at all levels
  • Good personal and operational organisational skills
