The Opportunity

The Maintenance Engineer role is crucial in supporting operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment reliability. You will provide preventative and reactive multi-skilled maintenance activities in a fast-paced GMP manufacturing environment.

This role reports to the Engineering Shift Manager.

Your shifts will rotate weekly from 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm.

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Implement a planned maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and asset performance.
  • Liaise with production and QA to carry out work orders, ensuring timely completion and accurate asset history documentation.
  • Minimize unscheduled downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns and monitoring line performance post-repair.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring issues.
  • Perform calibration services following work instructions and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, Health & Safety standards, and site regulations.
  • Continuously improve equipment safety, efficiency, changeovers, and minimize downtime.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Familiar with working on production equipment such as filling lines, conveyors, packaging lines, autoclaves, tablet pressers, granulators, WFI, and heat sterilizers.
  • Experienced in regulated process environments, ideally pharmaceutical, food, or fine chemicals.
  • Knowledgeable about GXP standards in engineering.
  • Possess a Level 3 NVQ in an engineering-related subject or equivalent industry experience.
