Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £46,293 per annum
Extras:

  • Overtime available at a premium rate
  • On-call allowance (1 week in every 4)
  • Monday to Friday shift pattern
  • Rotating shifts: 6am–2pm, 8am–4pm, 10am–6pm

Role Summary

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining site equipment through both planned and reactive maintenance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring plant availability, efficiency, and compliance with health & safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure electrical and mechanical safety across the site
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe isolation of equipment
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance using CMMS systems
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly and efficiently
  • Support spare parts management and stock control
  • Monitor plant condition and contribute to hygiene and audit improvements
  • Supervise contractors and manage permits to work
  • Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • City & Guilds Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with planned maintenance systems
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • Logical approach to fault finding
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must live within 1 hour of the site

Desirable:

  • Experience in FMCG or food industry
  • Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH)
  • Additional certifications (IPAF, PASMA, Forklift, BOAS, 18th Edition)
  • Welding/fabrication skills
