Job summary

ITM Power is seeking a maintenance engineer to perform planned, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on our green hydrogen production assets. You will support reliability initiatives such as RCM and FMEA, diagnose faults, and implement permanent corrective actions, while following safety standards.

The role requires reading technical drawings and working to company standards across automation, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Experience as maintenance engineer in automation, pneumatics, rotating/static equipment, instrumentation or multidisciplinary plant assets.
• Ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs, schematics, mechanical drawings).
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and risk management; continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Asset Maintenance & Reliability

• Experienced maintenance engineer.
• Execute planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and safety requirements.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives, including RCM & FMEA.
• Diagnose equipment faults, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions following the right first-time mindset.

Technical Expertise

• Experienced time served maintenance engineer with good engineering knowledge and experience in automation, pneumatics, rotating equipment, static equipment, instrumentation, electrical systems, or multidiscipline plant assets.
• Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in line with company standards, statutory regulations, and internal procedures.
• Ensure spares are always available and within Min-Max levels and make proposals on the stock holding.

Compliance & Safety

• Uphold safe systems of work including Permit-to-Work, LOTO, working-at-height procedures.
• Comply with statutory regulations (e.g. PUWER, LOLER)
• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Champion 6S in your area and others and support and promote all aspects of continuous improvement within ITM.
  Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• IOSH Working or Managing Safely desirable.
• Experienced time served maintenance engineer.
• Experience in automated manufacturing or process plant maintenance.
• Ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs, schematics, mechanical drawings).
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and risk management.
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Forklift licence (B1/B2)

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to highlight potential failures before they occur.
• A good level of IT competence in Microsoft packages and CMMS
• Excellent time management skills and a willingness to remain flexible
• Ability to communicate at all levels and ensure information is understood and embedded within your area.
• Full UK driving licence.
