Our client has been established globally for over a century and is recognized as a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of their niche sector solutions. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking a multi-skilled, electrically biased Shift Maintenance Engineer to complement their professional engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering and Process Improvement Manager and working as part of a multidisciplinary team of MHE engineers, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking both PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance repairs on a range of automated systems and mechanical handling equipment including conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes, robots, and vision systems in a fast-paced automated warehousing and distribution centre environment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment is sustained at all times.

Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

  1. Performing reactive fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of various items of automated and manual mechanical handling equipment and analysing breakdowns to determine root cause and prevent re-occurrence, as well as proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance to ensure schedules are achieved.
  2. Ensuring all KPI’s and/or objectives set by the Line Manager are performed effectively and within target and agreed parameters.
  3. Working at height (up to 25m) and being part of the rescue at height team (Full training and PPE will be provided).
  4. Delivering ongoing continuous improvements to equipment and assisting with projects where required, whilst developing and maintaining best practices.
  5. Working alongside and organizing contractors where appropriate to ensure on-time completion of projects whilst ensuring value for money is a priority, undertaking site visits where necessary to ensure work is carried out to required standards.

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity with our globally renowned market-leading client, you will essentially have successfully completed an electrical maintenance engineering apprenticeship or equivalent and demonstrate relevant engineering qualifications (ideally HND or above) and at least 3 years’ previous experience of working in an electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineering environment. With demonstrable technical knowledge of automation electrical systems, S7 PLC’s, and inverter-driven systems, Profinet, Profibus, Can-Bus, and ASI networks, you will also possess experience of working with barcode scanning networks, manual and automated picking cranes, along with pallet and tote conveyor systems and good all-round experience of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

In return, an attractive remuneration and benefits package coupled with both training and genuine career progression opportunities are available.
