Senior Maintenance Engineer (Multi skilled, Electrical Bias) – Rugby, Warwickshire
£45,000 + £2,500 lock-up bonus, generous benefits, generous overtime and pension.
Our Rugby based client has been established globally for over a century and are recognised as market leaders in the manufacture and distribution of their niche sector solutions. Due to continued success and ongoing growth, they are seeking a multi skilled, electrically biased Senior Maintenance Engineer to complement their professional engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary team of maintenance engineers tasked with undertaking both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown maintenance on a range of automated systems and mechanical handling equipment, including conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes, robots and vision systems in a fast-paced automated warehousing and distribution centre environment.
- Ensure a safe and efficient working environment at all times, delivering reactive fault finding, diagnosis and repair of automated and manual mechanical handling equipment, analysing breakdowns to determine root cause and prevent recurrence.
- Deliver ongoing continuous improvements to equipment and assist with projects where required, developing and maintaining best practices and sharing experience to support junior engineers and apprentices.
- Ensure KPIs and objectives are met by the team within target parameters, and organise and coordinate contractors where appropriate to ensure on-time project completion while prioritising value for money.
- Travel to site visits as necessary to ensure work is carried out to required standards.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience within an engineering maintenance environment.
- Electrical maintenance engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent) with relevant engineering qualifications (ideally HND or above).
- At least 3 years of experience in an electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineering environment.
- Technical knowledge of automation electrical systems, S7 PLCs and inverter-driven systems, Profinet, Profibus, Can-Bus and ASI networks, plus experience with barcode scanning networks.
- Experience with manual and automated picking cranes, pallet and tote conveyors, and broad experience of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
