Role

Maintenance Engineer – Reading (daily travel required as part of the position). Permanent, full-time.

About the employer

Working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected maintenance provider, trusted by some of the UK’s most recognisable retail brands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential maintenance services across the UK.

Responsibilities

You'll work in a two-person team, maintaining, repairing, and cleaning shop fronts at client sites. You’ll log jobs remotely via client portals, ensure all work meets safety standards, and liaise with the operations team to plan efficient schedules. The role involves travel, early starts, late finishes, night work and occasional overnight stays (overnight rates apply).

Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence – essential as part of the role
  • Comfortable working at height and physically fit for manual handling
  • Able to pass a clean Basic DBS check
  • Experienced in transferable trades (e.g. handyman, sign fitter, shop fitter, shutter fitter, general builder)
  • Confident using hand tools and logging hours accurately
  • Comfortable using tablets and updating client portals (training provided)
Desirable (training provided)
  • Experience in maintenance, construction or signage
  • Knowledge of H&S, ladder use or electrical safety
