The Role of the Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer will play an active role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable site through robust maintenance practices. The Maintenance Engineer will also be responsible for administrating the maintenance schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver site maintenance activities
  • Create and communicate maintenance/service schedules
  • Prepare reports and documentation for management
  • Respond promptly to unplanned breakdowns and call-outs
  • Lead and perform maintenance tasks alongside the technical support team
  • Drive cost-reduction and equipment improvement projects
  • Resolve process issues through continuous improvement
  • Source parts/quotations and raise purchase requisitions
  • Manage and supervise contractors on site
  • Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and company policies
  • Work flexibly, including overtime or non-regular hours when required
About the Maintenance Engineer
  • Higher Certificate in Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum 2 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Confident reading, interpreting, and updating engineering drawings
  • Proficient with Excel for analysing asset performance and costs
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, and materials
