Maintenance Engineer

A large food manufacturing business is looking for a highly skilled Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to work a rotating shift pattern. You will have experience working within a fast-paced environment, the ability to mentor junior Engineers, and support on projects.

What You Will Do:

1. Deputise for the Engineering Shift Manager when acting as Lead Engineer, leading teams within a specific area or zone.
2. Carry out Engineering maintenance in line with the schedule, ensuring effective and efficient corrective action.
3. Respond quickly and effectively to Mechanical, Electrical, and PLC control breakdowns across the site, identifying root causes and suggesting improvements.
4. Maintain good engineering standards and hygiene practices within the department, ensuring all activities comply with company and legislative health and safety guidelines.
5. Mentor Level 1 to 3 Maintenance Engineers as well as Apprentices, promoting a culture of learning and development.
6. Manage contractors and ensure timely reporting of any Health and Safety and Environmental Issues.

What You Will Bring:

1. An Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, HNC, HND, or Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
2. Be an electrical biased Engineer with an understanding of automation & PLC's.
3. Previous experience working with refrigeration equipment.
4. Proficiency in the maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing systems with mechanical fitting skills.
5. Good leadership qualities, the ability to motivate others, and make effective, timely decisions.
