Maintenance Engineer £40,000-£42,000 Monday-Friday Pattern (3 Shift) Gap Technical are partnering with a forward-thinking organisation, renowned for its inclusive culture and commitment to diversity. They are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Our client offers a supportive and engaging work environment, alongside a wide range of employee benefits. Performance Objectives

  • Perform reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on machinery and equipment (mechanical and electrical, if competent).
  • Maintain site utilities, buildings, and support services in line with legal and safety standards.
  • Support machine uptime by addressing faults, performing repairs, and completing maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing engineering solutions.
  • Support the installation of new equipment, as required.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and minimise disruption.
  • Ensure all work meets Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Hygiene standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A proactive mindset and a problem-solving approach.
  • Willingness to support cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.

Person Specification

  • The successful candidate will ideally of completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship
  • A background in Food/FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing will be a distinct advantage
  • HNC Qualification Highly Desirable
