We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment based in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge automated machinery in a business that values proactive engineering, reliability, and team culture.
Role Overview:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll provide both Electrical and Mechanical support to ensure optimum performance of all production and packaging equipment. You'll be expected to respond quickly to machinery breakdowns, carry out planned and preventative maintenance, and support continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Rapid response to breakdowns on automated machinery
Deliver both reactive and proactive maintenance across all equipment
Fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical systems (PLC, control panels, sensors)
Mechanical strip-downs, rebuilds, and root cause analysis
Support upgrades, modifications, and CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives
Ensure minimal downtime and prevent production losses
Skills & Experience Required:
Strong electrical maintenance background with solid mechanical capability
Previous experience in a high-speed manufacturing or industrial environment
Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, motors, control panels
Sound mechanical understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, conveyors
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Qualifications (One or More of the Following Preferred):
BTEC / ONC / HNC in Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineering
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance
City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Electrotechnical Certificate
Time-served Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineering Apprenticeship
