Job description

Pertemps are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to work for our client, a leading pet product manufacturer near Lincoln.

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out daily planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance across the site to keep production equipment running efficiently. This is an important role that requires good technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting business targets.

Hours of work:
Full-time, 4 on 4 off shift pattern:
  • 6am to 6pm (4 days)
  • 4 days off
  • 6pm to 6am (4 days)
  • 4 days off

Salary:
45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out daily planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance on site.
  • Support all departments to help meet business targets.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to the needs of the production teams.
  • Seek training opportunities for yourself and help train others.
  • Build good working relationships with production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Use engineering stores carefully to avoid waste and reduce costs.
  • Maintain good hygiene and housekeeping in engineering areas.
  • Report accurately on safety incidents, breakdowns, and downtime.
  • Work with the engineering supervisor to manage labour and material costs.
  • Keep good communication with your team and handover to oncoming shifts properly.
  • Help maintain site services equipment throughout the factory.
  • Keep the technical library organised and return manuals after use.
  • Look for ways to improve plant performance during maintenance and checks.
  • Follow health and safety rules to protect yourself and others.

Requirements:
  • Apprentice trained or have relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Experience working in a factory or similar environment.
  • Electrical experience is essential.
  • Computer literate.
  • Understand and follow Health and Safety at Work laws.
