The Job you will do:
- Maintain plant and equipment, contribute to installation and commissioning of new equipment, upgrade existing equipment, develop through training, and support the development of other engineers.
- Support colleagues in ensuring improvements.
- Work safely by observing instructions, procedures, permits, safety systems, lock-offs, and other protocols.
- Assist in safety improvements whenever possible.
- Maintain plant and equipment reactively (e.g., breakdowns) and proactively (e.g., PPMs, spares build-up).
- Communicate relevant information with lead technicians, maintenance technicians, colleagues, or others within the organization.
- Hand over incomplete work at the end of shifts.
- Report non-conformances observed.
- Seek assistance when required or in potential conflict situations (e.g., priorities).
- Record activities as directed.
- Work effectively with colleagues and subcontractors.
About you:
- Must be educated to at least ONC/OND/HND/HNC/NVQIII or equivalent in Maintenance/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in electrical fault finding is required.
- Ideally from a heavy engineering background or similar.
- Experience installing and fault-finding AC/DC motors, single and three-phase supplies.
- Ability to manage time and information effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Prepared to work at heights.
- Experience with PLCs and HMIs.
- Qualifications in HV switching.
- Experience in pyrometry.
- Training in 17th or 18th edition is preferred.
