About the role

At a glance

  • This role will be based at our Fenny Lock National Distribution Centre.
  • The salary range for this role is set at £26,759 - £40,900, plus an additional shift premium of 20% (calculated on the pay range minimum of £26,759).
  • Please note this role is 42 hours per week with a shift pattern of 14 x 12.5 hour shifts in every 28 day cycle. You will work a combination of day and night shifts: day shifts - 05:45 - 18:15, night shifts - 17:45 - 06:15.
  • This position is a permanent contract.
  • Internally, this role is known as 'Fabric Engineer'.
About the role

As part of the Campus Engineering Team, Fabric Engineers support shift and technical teams by delivering planned, reactive, remedial, and improvement tasks. Building fabric maintenance and value-added change-work are essential to our automated environment, and completing such work internally helps achieve business objectives.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Deliver planned maintenance, reactive and remedial regimes, including project work, reducing reliance on external contractors in a 24-hour environment where SLAs are critical. Learn skills related to campus asset maintenance, inspection regimes, record-keeping, plumbing, sanitary systems, painting, external site maintenance, and yard disciplines.
  • Achieve first-fix on building fabric, fixtures, and equipment, support the Engineering Technician team, action change-work within agreed hours, use IT systems effectively, communicate with Shift Managers, and resolve operational issues promptly and courteously.
