Job description
Overview

My client are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to carry out Mechanical and Electrical maintenance of the company's plant equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical faults that occur on plant and/or equipment.
  • Further develop/improve the preventative maintenance programme for all plant and/or equipment (hydraulics, robots, ancillary machines automatic assembly).
  • Validation of new plant equipment, automation and upgrades, arranging and liaising with outside contractors if and as required.
  • Process/equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Ensure all items of plant and/or equipment is in good safe working order.
  • Maintain and update PAT testing and register.
  • Manage new equipment installation, arranging and liaising with outside contractors if and as required.
  • Strive to improve the efficiency and safety of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of record keeping for all repairs and servicing of plant and/or equipment as required for audit, traceability and warranty purposes, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Requirements
  • Apprentice trained or formally qualified in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • A good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronic/electrical automation controls. Some knowledge in PLC programming would be a further advantage.
  • Qualified electrician with 17th/18th Edition regulations or equivalent.
  • Logic fault-finding & problem-solving skills
  • Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • General troubleshooting problems on a variety of plant and equipment.
Salary & Benefits

4 day/40 hour working week, Monday-Thursday, but flexibility is offered
20 days (5 working weeks) paid holiday allowance, plus all statutory holidays - 28 days total
