More About The Role
Our sites are demanding, complex, and some operate 24 hours a day. It's vital to have a strong Engineering team to ensure our machines operate efficiently. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. Your responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and quick problem-solving abilities.

Shift: 3 on, 3 off, working 05:45 - 17:45

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues early
  • Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing problems, and performing repairs or coordinating with external specialists
  • Carrying out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Monitoring and calibrating equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety standards
  • Collaborating with production teams to identify process improvements and providing technical expertise to boost productivity
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Staying updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to the role

About You

In addition to working efficiently under pressure, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to equipment reliability
  • Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Assertiveness and decision-making ability
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
