Maintenance Engineer

Salary:

£23.60 per hour

Working Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading food manufacturer in Brighton. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical expertise and is interested in a temp-to-perm opportunity in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and repair factory equipment (60% mechanical, 40% electrical).
  2. Diagnose and resolve faults to minimize downtime.
  3. Perform preventative maintenance to optimize efficiency.
  4. Support food safety and product quality standards.
  5. Collaborate with the Senior Engineer to improve processes.
Skills & Experience
  1. Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  2. Experience with food production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and checkweighers.
  3. Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  4. Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals.
