Job description

A Staffordshire-based food manufacturing company is looking to recruit a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for their production facility in Lichfield.

As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of a shift team of three engineers, providing engineering support to the production area. You will be responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of plant, equipment, and auxiliary systems.

The site is part of a group of sites across the UK and Europe.

Due to recent changes in the senior engineering team, positive developments are ongoing, fostering a culture where everyone's opinion counts and is valued.

Role:

• Multi-skilled, ideally electrically biased (mechanically biased with good electrical skills will be considered)
• Working Panama shifts (Days and Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm)
• Opportunity to work in a modern food manufacturing environment
• Salary of approximately GBP 51,000
• Equivalent of 33 days annual leave

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the team in maximizing plant and equipment efficiency to minimize downtime
• Ensure planned engineering tasks are completed on time and fully documented
• Follow good repair and manufacturing practices and procedures
• Complete planned maintenance documentation and use the CMMS effectively
• Collaborate with production staff to meet daily targets
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to improve efficiency and processes

Experience and Skills Required:

• Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G NVQ Level 3, ONC, or HNC qualifications
• Multi-skilled, with electrical bias and mechanical skills/experience
• Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and supporting production
• Experience in the food sector is essential
