Job description

Location: Brighton

Salary: GBP23.60 – GBP28.00 per hour

40 hours per week Monday to Friday

We are hiring a skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading food manufacturer in Brighton. If you have strong mechanical and electrical expertise and are looking for a temp to perm role in a fast–paced environment, this opportunity could be ideal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair factory equipment (60% mechanical, 40% electrical).
  • Diagnose and resolve faults to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to optimize efficiency.
  • Support food safety and product quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Senior Engineer to improve processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with food production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and checkweighers.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience, preferably in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals.
