Job description

Alexander Steele is working with a leading food manufacturing business based in Suffolk. Our client is looking for an experienced mechanically bias engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. The role holder will be responsible for testing and repairing equipment, both agricultural and production equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on a wide range of production equipment, including vehicles and other machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Conform to safety rules and apply good electrical and safety practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified to BTech Level 3.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle mechanics (City and Guilds 3905).
  • Experience working on agricultural equipment - tractors, trailers, and grass cutting equipment.
