Job description

Maintenance Pipe Fitter

£35,000 - £45,000 DOE plus benefits

Location: Shropshire-based with travel

Our long-standing client, with over 35 years of experience in fuel storage and combustion services, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Pipe Fitter. Their expertise dates back to the 1960s, originating from challenges in fuel and water quality on merchant naval vessels. Today, they operate from a modern headquarters in Shropshire and a strategic stock point in Aberdeen port, supporting clients across the UK, including key players in the North Sea Offshore industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing monthly planned preventative maintenance (PPM), including fuel sampling, filter checks, and dewatering
  • Supporting or conducting fuel testing (training provided)
  • Maintaining on-site dosing pumps, fuel pumps, dosing systems, hoses, and pipework
  • Fabricating dosing systems and components
  • Managing stock levels and ordering materials or spares
  • Installing dosing systems, polishers, dispensing units, and pipework
  • Supervising contractors during installation and maintenance projects

Candidate Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with hydraulic and piping systems, including Press-Fit, swaging, and pipe fittings
  • Ability to inspect systems for issues such as leaks or faults
  • Proficiency in pipework and pump repairs
  • Welding experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical systems or pressure testing is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Practical problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
  • Time-served apprenticeship or similar engineering/maintenance experience
