Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Engineer based in Dudley. The time-served Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for tasks including equipment maintenance, maintenance engineering, repair work, preventive maintenance, and electrical maintenance. The successful applicant should be fully conversant with all aspects of engineering and possess a strong working knowledge of 3-phase electrical control systems, including contactor and inverter circuits, motors, and safety circuits.

Experience with Slitting/Decoiling and Plate lines is essential. Candidates must be capable of working both independently and within a team. A wide range of on-site training opportunities are available, and the right candidate will have the chance to progress further in the role. Training areas include: LOLER, PUWER, Oxy Fuels, Crane Training, Coded Welding, Manual Handling, and MEWP training.

Qualifications / Experience / Interests

  • Experience in equipment maintenance, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and general repair work
  • Knowledge and experience in electrical maintenance and maintenance engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication experience, including MIG/MAG/Arc welding and Oxy Fuel
  • Experience with sub-assembly work
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience or understanding of machining: Lathe, Milling, Grinding
  • 17th/18th Edition Electrical Certification / AM2 / AM2S
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
