Qualifications

Job description

Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking for a role on a permanent day shift? If so, kick start your new year by applying for this excellent new opportunity we have had come up at a leading manufacturer in the Diss area.


Highly competitive salary on offer. 12-hour shifts, 7 days over a 2-week period. The hours when you're on shift are 06:00-18:00.

We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer who has experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding. You will be expected to work on your own a lot of the time so will need to be confident in your abilities & experience.


Maintenance Engineer duties include:

  1. Understand and be able to carry out the plant start up and shutdown procedure
  2. Carry out checks and tests on plant and equipment as required by the PPM Schedule or other source
  3. Carrying out reactive electrical & mechanical repairs and servicing across the whole site
  4. Support all aspects of continuous improvement
  5. Ensure that all work is recorded on the Planned Maintenance System
  6. To read, understand and follow the machine manufacturers' handbook instructions and drawings
  7. Undertake any training that is required to enhance or to keep your skills up to date
  8. Assist in the training of colleagues from other departments as required
  9. To be flexible and, when needed, available for callout on emergency plant breakdown and absence cover. This may also mean working overtime to provide the necessary cover to meet production requirements
  10. To be available through any plant shutdown on maintenance tasks or continuous improvement projects
  11. Adhere to the Company's ISO 9001 Procedures and Work Instructions
  12. Able to work under your own initiative with minimum supervision on occasion
  13. Ensure good communication with all colleagues and supervision
