Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Derby

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Operative to join our team in Derby. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the site, including involvement in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic plumbing tasks, such as repairing leaks, unblocking drains, and replacing taps and fixtures.
2. Carry out basic electrical work, including replacing light bulbs and fuses.
3. Undertake general carpentry duties, such as changing door closures and fixing minor structural repairs.
4. Assist with basic decorating duties, including painting and maintaining the appearance of various areas.
5. Ensure all tasks comply with safety regulations and company policies.
6. Respond promptly and efficiently to reactive maintenance requests.
7. Maintain a tidy and safe work environment, reporting hazards immediately.
8. Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks on time.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in general maintenance or similar roles.
• Basic skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and decorating.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliability, self-motivation, and proactivity in task execution.

Desirable:

• Experience working within an industrial environment.
• Additional qualifications in maintenance or specific trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
