Overview

Role: Maintenance Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer

Salary: £44,000 - £47,000 per annum, plus benefits and career growth opportunities

Hours: Rotating shift pattern of 06:00am - 14:30pm, 14:00pm - 22:30pm and 22:00pm - 06:30am

Location: Commutable from Aylesford, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Orpington, Bromley, Maidstone, Tonbridge, Dartford, Gravesend & surrounding areas

The Role

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager this is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced environment as the Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will provide support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including day to day machinery breakdowns, PPM's, equipment upgrades, new installations, and general facilities.

  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions;
  • Ensuring all PPM activities are completed on time as required, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities.
  • Working closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, sharing all other information and practices as required.
  • Providing knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities.
  • Working with Engineering colleagues and Engineering Manager to identify long running problems and suitable solutions.
  • Undertaking repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner ensuring that production is constantly updated on progress.
  • Undertaking remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Ensuring that safe systems of work and best practice procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintaining excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers.
  • Ensuring the Company's disciplines, rules and standards are maintained.
Preferred Skills & Experience / Qualifications
  • A recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G) or completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Skills in mechanical and/or electrical, with the willingness to turn their hands to a multi skilled environment.
  • Any experience of ANY of the following: sensors, relays, motors, bearings, gear boxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems, autoclaves etc.
  • Be willing to take on necessary training and upskilling opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
