This role offers exposure to both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines while providing opportunities to contribute to equipment upgrades, process improvements, and operational efficiency projects. The successful candidate will be naturally curious, proactive, and motivated to identify better ways of working, whilst maintaining the high standards of compliance required within a regulated industry.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment servicing, calibration, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, proposing and implementing practical engineering solutions.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to equipment failures and operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all activities are documented in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and maintain a clear compliance trail for all maintenance activities and equipment changes.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to support production requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, GMP, and company procedures at all times.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and operational excellence.

The position will be working late shifts on site in South London (1.30pm-10pm Monday Friday). Some flexibility to work early shifts during training is important.

  • Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to complete documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create and update technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and undertake training.
