As the site continues to expand, you'll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining and optimising some of the most innovative automated warehousing solutions in the UK. Working alongside specialist suppliers, installers and commissioning engineers, you'll gain hands‑on exposure to new technologies while helping shape the future of automation within DP World.

How you will contribute

  • Maintain and optimise highly automated warehouse systems, including AMRs, ASRS, robotics, conveyors and sortation equipment.
  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities to maximise system availability and operational performance.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical and controls-related faults across a broad range of automated technologies.
  • Perform fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment and support system troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
  • Work alongside equipment manufacturers, suppliers and commissioning teams during the installation, testing and handover of new automation solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, efficiency and equipment performance.
  • Support site expansion projects and contribute to the successful deployment of new automation and robotics technologies.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities, equipment performance data and engineering improvements through maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all engineering activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and health and safety legislation.

What you will bring

  • Previous experience working within an automated warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing or highly automated production environment.
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining automated material handling equipment such as AMRs, ASRS, robotics, conveyors, shuttles or sortation systems.
  • Strong multi‑skilled engineering capability with both electrical and mechanical fault‑finding experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC‑controlled systems and the ability to diagnose and resolve automation‑related issues.
  • Experience supporting the installation, commissioning or launch of new equipment and automated systems would be highly advantageous.
  • Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Multi‑Skilled Engineering), or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with experience conducting root cause analysis and driving reliability improvements.
  • Comfortable working alongside external suppliers, contractors and specialist engineering partners.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for automation, emerging technologies and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence within a fast‑paced engineering environment.
