Job description

Job Summary
Red Recruitment are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our clients' team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot various equipment. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills. The Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency and reliability while providing exceptional customer service.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and electrical circuits to ensure optimal machine performance and reduce downtime.
  2. Collaborate with operations teams to schedule preventative maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
  3. Program and modify PLC code for troubleshooting, process optimization, and system upgrades (Studio 5000, Allen Bradley, RS Logix).
  4. Conduct electrical wiring and circuit analysis, repairing and replacing damaged components as necessary.
  5. Oversee system testing and calibration to ensure accurate performance and compliance with safety standards.
  6. Document all maintenance activities and repairs.
  7. Work closely with the engineering team to identify areas for system improvement and implement upgrades.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with Electrical Engineering experience.
  2. 17th or 18th Edition beneficial.
  3. PLC experience beneficial.
  4. Be able to provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns, ensuring rapid resolution of equipment failures.

Working shift pattern:

Monday - Thursday 6am-2pm
Friday - 6am-1pm
Monday to Wednesday 2pm-12am
Thursday 2pm-11pm (Friday off)
Overtime available/ Shift allowance applied for Back shift.

Job Types: Permanent, Temp to perm

Pay: £35,000.00 - £48,000.00 per year
