Maintenance Engineer - Castle Cary, Somerset

£44,000 - £50,000

About the Role

Our client is a leading manufacturer committed to producing high-quality products. With a strong order book and over £9 million invested in the factory and expansion into various export markets, they are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct planned maintenance inspections and review parts used.
  • Recommend improvements aligned with projects and maintenance schedules, and perform safety checks on equipment.
  • Monitor plant conditions, report defects, and repair machinery.
  • Generate and maintain compliance with SOPs and risk assessments.
  • Report on plant performance, ensuring action on non-conformance issues.
  • Work on boilers, steam boilers, ammonia equipment, valves, and pumps.
  • Support production and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or Apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong understanding of good engineering standards.
  • Experience in food, packaging, beverage, or manufacturing environments.
