Qualifications

We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join one of the UK’s most respected textiles and manufacturing businesses. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer position is commutable from the following locations: Blackburn / Bolton / Oldham / Burnley.

Shift pattern:

The Maintenance Engineer will be required to work a Continental shift – 4 on, 4 off – 2 days, 2 nights. 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm, with 277 hours of holiday annually.

Requirements:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on factory machinery
  • Overhaul, upkeep, and repair of all plant equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Overhaul of gearboxes, pumps, motors, temperature controllers, granulators, shredders
  • Repairs to pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Fitter in a manufacturing or production environment
  • A proactive individual who can work well within a team and independently
  • Ideally apprentice trained
  • Holding an NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering
