Maintenance Engineer

Birmingham, West Midlands.

FMCG Manufacturing Business.

£40,576 per annum + Benefits.

Shift Pattern: 6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Monday - Friday) / Weekly Rotation.

A well-known and highly successful manufacturing business based in the centre of Birmingham are searching for an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to join their experienced team. Working within a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment, this role involves the provision of reactive and planned preventative maintenance on a range of automated machinery.

Coupled with a full induction and training period, this business is looking to support the incoming Maintenance Engineer with additional qualifications. If the engineer has a mechanical bias, electrical qualifications in wiring regulations & PLC's will be provided; equally, if you have an electrical bias, you will be supported with mechanical qualifications. Salary increases will occur once qualifications are ticked off!

This role will suit an engineer with 3-4+ years' experience who is keen to continue their skills development or perhaps a more experienced engineer who is looking for a role with no night shifts.

Role Description

  1. Provision of planned and reactive maintenance engineering across a broad range of automated production / process machinery.
  2. Mechanical and Electrical Fault Finding and repair activities.
  3. Overhauling machinery and installing new equipment when required.
  4. Keeping H&S at the forefront when all work is conducted.
  5. Working alongside a cross-sectional team of skilled engineers.
  6. Reporting into the Engineering Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications
  1. Mechanical or Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineering experience.
  2. Good 'hands on' engineering skills.
  3. Ability to perform both planned and reactive maintenance.
  4. Experience in an engineering or manufacturing industry.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  6. Willingness to train and continue skills development.
