Job description

We're working with a well-established food production business in the Scottish Borders who are looking to add a Multi-Skilled Engineer to their on-site team at a busy packing facility.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and wants to be part of a supportive and skilled engineering team.

The Role

In this hands-on role, you'll be carrying out a mix of reactive and planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of equipment. You'll work closely with the engineering team to:

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
  • Support ongoing improvement projects and new installation
  • Maintain and enhance food washing, grading, and packing machinery
  • You'll be an important part of the team keeping production running smoothly and safely, particularly during the busy peak season.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings a positive, solutions-focused attitude, with the following skills and experience:

  • Fully qualified multi-skilled engineer, preferably with an electrical bias
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (essential
  • Confident in fault-finding and problem solving across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Eager to learn and develop with a proactive approach

  • Competitive starting rate: £18.50 per hour
  • Progression to £23.00 per hour following in-house training and development
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern | 06:00-18:00 (may vary during peak Christmas period)
  • Weekly pay - every Friday
  • 5 hours of holiday annually
