  • Participate in ongoing project work, including new equipment installation.

Overview

Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Banbury, Oxford

Shift: Monday - Friday 4 week rota (Days, lates and nights)

Salary: Circa £52,000 - £59,000 per annum

We are an established FMCG manufacturer with over 70 locations across 20 countries, supported by a dedicated team of more than 6,400 employees all over the world. The organization produces premium solutions for industries such as automotive, food and beverage, chemicals, and e-commerce, and works very closely with household name brands. This is an opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer within the manufacturing industry to work with a true independent market leader within a well-established international group.

Role Responsibilities
  • Execute scheduled Planned Maintenance and Inspections to ensure continuous operation and reliability of all mechanical systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely and efficient response to mechanical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Actively participate in ongoing project work, including the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and plant upgrades.
  • Perform the installation, commissioning, and routine maintenance of a wide range of mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records and documentation to meet internal requirements and regulatory/audit standards.
  • Ensure effective communication of all issues, results, and maintenance plans with the wider engineering team.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Engineers to share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Manage the process for sourcing and ordering spare parts to maintain critical stock levels
Requirements
  • Proven experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of complex industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Prior experience gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Formal Qualifications: Completed an onsite apprenticeship or hold a UK equivalent qualification (Level 3 NVQ, HNC, HND, ONC) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with standard workshop equipment and bench skills (e.g., measuring, cutting, welding/fabrication as required).
  • Working knowledge of core industrial systems, including steam, hydraulic, and pneumatic technologies.
  • Familiarity with the safe and effective use of access and lifting equipment, such as Forklift Trucks (FLTs) or Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
  • Prior experience gained within a manufacturing or production environment.
