As our new Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maximising productivity through proactive maintenance, reducing downtime and improving machine efficiency.
As a key member of the engineering team carrying out maintenance on the manufacturing sites; ensuring work is carried out safely; keeping machines well maintained in a safe working condition; providing support and training to the engineering apprentices; Carrying out regulatory and statutory inspections; Support in ensuring contractors are correctly managed when on site; update spare part inventory ensuring enough spares are kept in stock; keep accurate records; provide detailed reports (including but not limited to) of any maintenance, breakdowns and incidents; Provide ideas and solutions to improve current machinery and process; Support in specifying new machinery; Ensuring new machinery is safely brought into operation; Carry out risk assessments and developing SSOWs.

What you'll be doingEnsuring all machinery and equipment is kept in a safe working condition.
Keep machine and equipment downtime to a minimum.
Carry out proactive planned maintenance tasks
Carry out reactive maintenance tasks
Carry out machine/equipment improvements to improve safety and/or efficiency.
Diagnose faults effectively and make good whenever possible.
Implement minor electrical installation works (depending on qualifications)
Carry out mechanical repair and/or replacement of equipment
Ensure all tasks are risk assessed through site specific, job specific or dynamic risk assessments.
Sourcing parts and materials from suppliers and arranging procurement
Administering work permits and monitoring 3rd party contractors.
Keeping accurate records
Updating and maintaining the maintenance records
Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times
2+ years' experience in maintenance role
Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
Able to demonstrate strong analytical thinking and have strong decision making skills
Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to keep a track of and report on activity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team player
Adaptable and flexible
Tidy worker with good organisational skills.
