Job summary

Welland Operations is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to maintain electrical equipment across our plant, ensuring incineration processes run safely and efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will perform planned maintenance from CMMS, fault find, and support outages alongside contractors, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and diagnose faults.
• Ability to work under pressure and take on additional duties.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical discipline.
• Experience in a similar role.
• HNC/HND desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with CMMS job cards.
• Respond to electrical faults and carry out defect rectification in a timely manner.
• Interact with operations personnel regarding fault finding and process modifications.
• Carry out isolations in conjunction with maintenance/operations requests.
• Replace or install cabling using tray, trunking, conduit, etc.
• Fault find in control panels and motors (110, 240V, 415V).
• Understand electrical drawings, starters and controls.
• Assist with safety procedures and PTW compliance.

Job description

We are currently looking for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The purpose of the role is to ensure all electrical equipment associated with incineration process is running safely and efficiently, using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods. To contribute to the preventative maintenance and defect rectification on all plant and equipment. To provide an electrical service throughout the Plant while implementing a culture of continuous improvement.

Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the computerised maintenance job cards and report any irregularities.

Interact with operations personnel in regard to fault finding, test, modification to process requirements and carry out defect rectification in line with the defect reporting system.

To carry out isolations as necessary and in conjunction with maintenance/operations requests.

Reactive to "break down" situations in a timely manner to help the company achieve continuous plant availability.

Work alongside contractors during outages when larger maintenance works are carried out.

Effectively react to changes in circumstances and unplanned emergencies in relation to Plant and equipment.

To assist other maintenance personnel as required.

Liaise with contractors as the need arises.

Working at Height and in confined spaces.

Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.

Report when stock levels that are at re-order level for all items of spares and consumables.

Fault find in control panels.

Install new or replace old cabling using a variety of methods i.e. tray, trunking, conduit etc.

Fault find and wiring of motors – 110, 240V, 415V.

Understand electrical drawings.

Starters and controls.

Health and Safety:

Demonstrate safe working practices in line with the Company's Health and Safety procedures/policy and all Company policies.

Active involvement in fire drills and evacuation exercises.

Reporting to the relevant levels of management any contravention of statutory and NMOL Safe working practices, this includes reporting accidents and incidents.

Work within the requirements of the Company's Permit to Work (PTW) system.

Highlight any necessary changes required within Plant Operating Instructions (POI's), and Risk Assessments.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with all departments.

The above duties are not exhaustive. The job holder will also be required to carry out other ad hoc duties that are necessary.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

Attention to detail with the ability to effectively interpret data, and knowledge of fault finding.

Ability to work under pressure and take on additional duties when required.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Ability to read technical drawings.

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical discipline.

Experience in similar role.

HNC, HND desirable but not essential.

Working at height trained advantageous but not essential.

MEWP trained advantageous but not essential.

HV Experience up to 33KV advantageous but not essential.
