Job summary

Rydon is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the NHS Maintenance team at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. This mobile role covers multiple clinics around Sidcup and surrounding areas, delivering planned, preventative and responsive electrical work to ensure hospital operations run smoothly.

The successful candidate will have NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations, 18th edition, and ideally inspection & testing qualifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations is required.
• 18th edition wiring regulations preferred.
• Inspection & testing qualifications (2391/2394/2395) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance in a hospital environment.
• Perform electrical repairs on circuits, controls, fuses, lighting and motors.
• Complete PPMs including emergency lighting testing and water temperature checks.
• Work across multiple NHS clinics in and around Sidcup, Bromley, Bexley, Erith and Abbey Wood.
• Join a mobile maintenance team and participate in on-call rota to support urgent repairs.

Overview

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our NHS Maintenance team at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group and is successfully providing hard FM (facilities management services) to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare sector. We provide hard FM services across England for a growing number of NHS Trusts. We look after more than 250 buildings on behalf of 20 NHS Trusts on a planned, responsive repairs and small works projects basis. We provide maintenance services to hospitals, primary care, ambulance and mental health trusts. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.

Job Purpose

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our NHS Maintenance team at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. This team which delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with this large Acute NHS Trust.

This is a mobile position where you will be working as part of a highly skilled maintenance team (consisting of mechanical, electrical and multi skilled maintenance operatives).You will be working across multiple primary health care clinics/centres in and around Sidcup, Bromley, Bexley, Erith and Abbey Wood.

This team are responsible for ensuring that jobs completed meet the desired quality and customer service standards. You will be responsible for planned, preventative and responsive maintenance to ensure that this busy hospital environment is operational at all times.

The types of work involve commercial electrical repairs, maintenance and installation. This could involve work with circuit breakers, controls, fuses, lights, motors and more. You will also be involved with completing PPM's (planned preventative maintenance) such as emergency lighting testing and water temperature checks.

Normal working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will also participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).

Experience Required

The successful candidate will have previous experience gained as a maintenance electrician. This experience will ideally have been gained in an NHS hospital environment, though candidates with strong commercial electrical experience will also be considered (ie experience gained in commercial offices, hotels, education etc). The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification Level 3 for electrical installations, 18th edition and 2391 or 2394 & 2395 for inspection & testing would be desirable.
