Location: Lewes, East Sussex

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (9.5 hours/day)

Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm (12-week temp period, then permanent)

Pay: £25/hour (Negotiable based on experience), paid via Umbrella PAYE

The Role

We are working with a respected industrial site in Lewes that needs a reliable Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will be responsible for keeping machinery and electrical systems running smoothly, from fault finding to repairs and planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine electrical maintenance and servicing
• Fault-finding, diagnostics, and timely repair of breakdowns
• Installing and testing electrical equipment and components
• Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Supporting the wider maintenance and engineering team
• Ensuring all work is safe and compliant with current regulations

What You'll Need

• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance
• NVQ Level 3
• 18th Edition wiring regulations (BS 7671) preferred
• Rights to work in the UK (NO SPONSORSHIPS)
• Own PPE
• Basic Electrical toolkit
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Able to work independently and safely
• Ideally local to Lewes or immediate area

Pay & Hours

• Rate: £25/hour (Umbrella PAYE, negotiable depending on experience)
• Hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm (Mon-Fri), 47.5 hours/week (Overtime Available)

How You'll Be Paid

Initially, until taken on permanently after 12 weeks, you'll be paid via an umbrella company, which means:

• You're employed by the umbrella company and paid through PAYE
• Tax, National Insurance, and holiday pay are all deducted before payment
• You'll receive a payslip each week and can opt into a pension scheme
• An umbrella margin (typically £12.50 per week) will be deducted from the gross rate
