This permanent, PAYE role involves reactive and planned maintenance, working primarily in commercial environments such as pubs and care homes. Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive maintenance in commercial buildings.
  • Perform high-level electrical testing and inspections.
  • Complete minor installations and testing works.

Job description

Maintenance Electrician | Brighton, West Sussex | £42,500 - £46,500 | Weekly Pay | Van Provided | Permanent, PAYE role.

Due to increased demand and expanding contracts, we are actively recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician to work in/around the Brighton area, carrying out reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), remedial and testing works within commercial building environments.

  • Role: Maintenance Electrician
  • Location: Brighton & Surrounding areas (Up to maximum of 50 mile radius of home address).
  • Full time, permanent role (PAYE), paid weekly.
  • Environments: Pubs, Restaurants, Care Homes, Nurseries etc.
  • Workload: Reactive, Planned, Minor Installations and Testing works – heavily reactive role.
  • Hours: 07:00am – 5:30pm (including travelling time, site hours estimated circa 8am – 4:30pm dependant on distance).
  • D2D travel time to and from work paid after 30 mins each way.
  • Salary: £42,700 - £46,400 dependant on qualifications.
  • Average yearly earnings: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum.
  • Call out: 1 in 4 weeks. £100 p/w standby allowance (£1,300 per annum) + D2D travel at overtime rates if called out.
  • £5 per day towards your lunch (£1,300 per year).
  • Company van, fuel card, uniform, phone provided.
  • Van use: Business use only, some flexibility on local, sensible personal use
  • 28 days paid holiday (inc BH) + pension.
  • Training: After 3 month probation period, the business would be happy to support / fund training and further courses: Testing and Inspection certificates so you are able to carry out EICRs, fixed wire testing etc. Or other courses to become multi skilled, ie: BMS, F-Gas etc. Rate will also increase in-line with courses passed.
  • Qualified Electrician: £42,500 - OTE: 50-60K
  • Qualified Electrician with 2391: £46,500 - OTE: 55-65K

Workload

  • Emergency lighting tests, fire alarm tests, PAT Testing, fire extinguisher PPMs etc.
  • Electrical fault finding, emergency / safety lighting, decorative lighting, security lighting, LED upgrades / lighting upgrades, sockets, circuits, wiring, power distribution, transformers, power supplies to HVAC, Fire and Security systems, installing / replacing electrical accessories ie: maglocks etc.
  • Minor installations.
  • EICRs, fixed wire testing etc.

Requirements

  • Must be a fully qualified Electrician, ie: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2330 Level 3, City & Guilds 2360 Part 2 or equivalent.
  • Up to date regulations is highly preferable: City & Guilds 18th edition.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection is highly preferable and will welcome a higher salary bracket.
  • UK driving license with under 9 points required.
  • Experience carrying out reactive maintenance, remedial and planned maintenance within commercial environments is highly preferable.
