Responsibilities include:
- Working under the site's Permit To Work, Lock Out Tag Out, and Risk Assessment systems
- Maintaining and fault finding DCS and PLC systems
- Maintenance and fault identification on Low Voltage (up to 415 vac) electrical installations, switchgear, and distribution systems
- Predictive/reactive maintenance of site assets, mechanical and electrical
- Working to country-specific requirements for Wiring Regulations (Latest edition)
- Undertaking site service electrical/mechanical maintenance and installation duties as scheduled
- Accurately completing job records on the Computer Maintenance Management System
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects
- Self-auditing practices and processes, initiating changes where applicable
- Assisting with projects including conception, installation, commissioning, monitoring, and maintenance
- Monitoring machine efficiencies to ensure optimal performance
- Proposing improvement recommendations for plant, equipment, and working practices
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
- Engineering Technician relevant qualifications (e.g., Apprenticeship, ONC, NVQ)
- BS7671 17th/18th Edition regulations
- Previous electrical maintenance experience
- Pneumatic systems fault diagnostics/modifications
- Ability to diagnose faults to root cause (e.g., 5 Whys technique)
- Experience in hazardous sites such as chemical plants (advantageous)
- Inspection and Testing certification (desirable)
