Job description

As a Maintenance Person for Maria Mallaband Care Group, you will be part of the care home's team and work with other staff to ensure the safety of all Service Users, visitors, and employees. The role can be physically and mentally demanding. The primary responsibilities include conducting health and safety checks of the building, environment, and equipment. You will also need to enter residents' rooms and be comfortable around people living with dementia.

We are only able to accept applicants who have the right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance to the job location.

This role will include some weekend work.

Person Specification:

Professional

  • The Maintenance Person should ideally hold relevant qualifications or be willing to work towards one.
  • Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

Experience

  • Ability to manage pressure, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Genuine interest in working in a care environment.
  • Experience in health and safety checks of buildings, environment, and equipment.

General

  • Understanding and empathy for older people.
  • Ability to take a lead when needed and work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Ability to work in a homely, lively, and exciting environment.
