The University of Essex is seeking a building craftsperson to ensure effective reactive maintenance across its campuses. You will collaborate with the Building Team and contractors to maintain world-class facilities and services, supporting our commitment to an excellent educational environment.

Estates and Campus Services supports the study and work of all students and staff through the provision of outstanding services that are customer-focused and professionally and sustainably delivered.
We are responsible for maintaining and developing the campus buildings and grounds, as well as providing customer-led services such as campus security, student accommodation, catering, conferencing, nursery provision, and sport.
Estates and Campus Services, comprising over 700 staff, is organized into twelve main operational areas and several central support functions.
Duties of the Role
We are seeking a building craftsperson to undertake reactive maintenance across the University’s campuses, ensuring the continued provision of world-class teaching, research, and learning.
You will collaborate closely with the Building Team and external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely repairs with minimal disruption to departments.

Skills and Qualifications Required
The University seeks an individual with relevant experience and qualifications for this role. You should be an excellent communicator, a team player, and have awareness of health and safety regulations.
This is a new position created to support the existing team members.
