easyJet are on the hunt for a Maintenance Control Planning Manager to join us on a permanent basis. Our Operations Control Centre runs 24/7, 365 days a year. With this team, you’ll help to provide network oversight to maintain aircraft airworthiness and control all maintenance related activities. Scheduled planning, material logistics, defect management, troubleshooting and AOG recovery, are all covered here.
Your Mission
As the Maintenance Control Planning Manager at easyJet, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering the planning functions within our Maintenance Control (MC), directly reporting to the Head of Maintenance Operations. Your mission is to work closely with the MC management team to uphold high standards in a dynamic environment, ensuring that all planning activities align with our strategic objectives. This includes managing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to comply with regulatory standards, optimising manpower efficiencies, and enhancing the capabilities of our light base maintenance facilities. You will also drive continuous improvements in our processes to maintain low defect levels and ensure the highest standards of aircraft readiness and safety for our passengers.
In this strategic and operational role, you will be responsible for the consistency of processes and procedures within MC planning, integrating these with easyJet's overall Maintenance Planning processes. Your focus will be on maximising productivity and reducing downtime through effective manpower planning and resource allocation across our fleet. This role requires a proactive approach to team development, including training, succession planning, and productivity initiatives. With a forward-looking perspective, you will anticipate and navigate the continuous capacity challenges within the network, playing a crucial role in our operational strategy and the commercial objectives of easyJet.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Strategic Oversight and Reporting: Start the day with a report to the Head of Maintenance Operations, followed by strategic planning and coordination meetings with the MC management team to ensure alignment with overall planning functions.
- Maintenance Coordination: Manage Maintenance Operations Parameters to balance scheduled and unscheduled maintenance needs, ensuring optimal ground times and maintenance capacity with the Line Maintenance and easyJet 145 leadership teams.
- Process and Defect Management: Implement improvements in planning and materials processes to reduce MEL defect closure times and continuously drive process enhancements to maintain low defect levels across the fleet.
- Technical and Network Efficiency: Collaborate with the Technical Event Reduction and Reliability team to optimise task planning and work with the network team to maintain high productivity and reduce deassignments.
- Customer Focus and Quality Assurance: Ensure high aircraft standards for passenger satisfaction by managing defect levels and maintaining consistent procedures in line with easyJet’s Maintenance Planning processes.
- Team Development and Productivity: Lead a team of 20 with their development through detailed training, succession planning, and productivity initiatives, ensuring high competence and integration within MC.

To excel in the role of Maintenance Control Planning Manager at easyJet, you must have a robust background in airline planning functions, particularly within dynamic environments like Maintenance Control (MC). A deep understanding of regulations across various Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) is essential.
The role demands a proactive approach to driving change and enhancing systems and processes, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of AMOS functions related to planning and logistics. Leadership skills are crucial, as the position involves leading and motivating a shift-based team.
You should be self-motivated, consistently meeting or surpassing targets, and adept at managing process changes and improvements. Strong interdepartmental communication skills are necessary to unify team efforts towards a common goal.
Additionally, the ability to quickly adapt to new IT skills is important, with a solid foundation in the core Microsoft Office suite.
